Svein and the Rat and the UFO-mystery

Svein and his two best friends have gone to visit grandma in the country, along with their rats Halvorsen, James Bond, and Pippi.
But their super summer vacation of late nights, grandma's telescope, hot chocolate, and endless amounts of candy appears to go down the drain. The children had been looking forward to making new discoveries in the night sky, but instead they become shocked witnesses as grandma is placed in a rest home where the old folks are dying like flies.
They try to cheer up grandma as best they can, but she becomes more and more coo-coo. When Halvorsen starts showing the same symptoms as grandma, the children become convinced that something sinister is going on at the rest home. After a thorough investigation, it turns out that the rest home is a cover for space aliens in search of knowledge – knowledge they find in old souls, including grandma's and Halvorsen's.
In order to keep grandma's soul from being stolen by the space aliens, the children, aided by their rats, kidnap grandma. With Uncle Trygve, a search party, and mysterious UFOs on their tail, the children and grandma escape into the forest. A strange light appears in the sky, and grandma disappears. Was she abducted by aliens after all?
